9th & 10th Grade College Trip & Make-up Day

On Tuesday, April 16, the Lakeview Academy Upper School will have a catch-up day for students who have missed any school days and/or assignments this semester. All academic teachers will be available to help students with all make-up and eligible missing work from this semester on Tuesday morning at 8:20. All make-up and eligible missing work must be completed at school on Tuesday. Any outstanding missing assignments will be locked in with a grade of zero after Tuesday. This will allow students and teachers to clear their minds of past work and reset their focus on upcoming content, assignments, and exams as we approach the end of the school year.
Freshmen and sophomores will board a bus at 11:00 am to tour the University of Georgia campus in Athens. This trip aims to expose students to a large state university as they begin to paint the picture of which college setting might be best for them once they graduate from Lakeview. Students will eat lunch at a campus dining hall, take a campus tour, and be exposed to the academic programs and admissions requirements of UGA. Students will return to Lakeview at 5:00 pm and will be dismissed at that time. Please arrange transportation home.

All students will be billed for the trip and lunch. However, we might be visiting the bookstores on campus and you will need money if you would like to purchase snacks or items in the bookstores. Bring a positive attitude and thoughtful questions.

What to wear:
You may dress out of uniform. However, we ask that you dress nicely. Students may follow the “spirit wear” dress code if preferred and should wear comfortable walking shoes. You may also wear a sweater, collared shirt, or long-sleeved top with your jeans or khaki pants. Do not wear athletic wear such as gym shorts, sweatpants, yoga pants, tennis skirts, a hoodie, or a graphic t-shirt. You are representing Lakeview Academy and need to do so appropriately. Dress comfortably and appropriately, especially in the shoe department. We will be doing a LOT of walking. We will also tour rain or shine. If rain is in the forecast, bring an umbrella and/or rain jacket and appropriate shoes to potentially walk around on wet sidewalks. You may want to bring a change of clothes in case you do get wet on a tour and want to change into dry clothes on the bus.
