    • 4:30 – 5:00 p.m. New Family Orientation (Student Center). Afterwards, new families will have the opportunity to meet their teachers.

  • Q: When is Lakeview's back-to-school open house?

    Lakeview's back-to-school open house is Monday, August 19, 2019

    New families are encouraged to attend the 
    New Family Orientation on Monday, August 19 at 4:30 p.m. in the Student Center. Afterwards, new families will have the opportunity to meet their teachers.

    The back-to-school open house for returning students is Monday, August 19 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the sidewalk leading to Singleton Hall (MS building) and between the Ramsey/Hill Hall (LS building) and the Student Center. Open house is an opportunity for students and parents to visit their new classrooms, meet their teachers, setup lockers, purchase used uniforms and P.E. attire and register for various school programs, such as transportation, food service, Extended Learning (for Lower School students), and private lessons offered at Lakeview.

    On this same day, all families are invited to the Board of Trustees Annual Meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Center.
  • Q: What forms are required before school starts?

    In Upper School, all students are required to have their online school forms completed BEFORE the beginning of school. You can access these forms via the Lion Portal by logging into the Lakeview website. Required school forms include:
    • Student Health (2019-20)
    • Emergency Contacts (2019-20)
    • Permission to Administer Medication (2019-20)
    • Review and update the Student & Family Update form
    • Laptop Purchase Form (2019-20) and optional Laptop Lease Form (2019-20) for all 9th grade students and Upper School students new to Lakeview Academy - DUE 7/1/19
    • Responsible Technology Use Policy (2019-20)
    • Transportation (2019-20) (for field trips and daily commute)

  • Q: When and where do I get my books?

    You will receive your textbook from your teacher once school begins.
  • Q: Does the Upper School have a supply list of back-to-school items?

    There is not a supplies list for Upper School students.  Students will receive details from each teacher on what they will need for class. For the first day, pencil, paper and laptops are sufficient. (9th grade and new-to-Upper School students will receive their laptops during the first week of school.)

    Upper School students are required to own a Texas Instruments N-Spire calculator. Juniors and seniors who already own models 83 or 84 are not required to upgrade to the TI N-Spire. If you do not own one of these calculators, please wait to talk to your teacher before making any purchases.

    When you do purchase your Texas Instruments calculators, do not open the packaging until it can be done in class.
  • Q: When will my child receive their laptop?

    9th grade students will receive their laptops on the second day of school, Thursday, August 22, during English Class. All other new students will be given their laptops the first day of school during their Study Halls, on Wednesday, August 21. Along with distribution, students will be led through a brief hands-on introduction to their Yoga laptops, log-onto their school accounts, learn about our tablet loaner program, digital resources, and warranty information.
  • Q: Where do I find school uniforms?

    The 2019-2020 Student & Parent Handbook contains all the regulations regarding uniforms and spirit wear. The Dress Code section begins on page 51 or you can download and view the Dress Code section here.

    Purchasing uniforms from vendors

    To allow for variations in sizing, costs and preferences, you may also purchase any of your blank (non-logoed) garments from the vendor, store or catalog of your choice including the LPA's used uniform sales.

    Used Uniform Sale

    In addition, the Lakeview Parent Association (LPA) holds used uniform sales throughout the year. The first sale will be during New Family Orientation and Back-to-School Open House on Monday, August 19, 2019.

    Spirit Wear

    Located 1.2 miles from the school at 2480 Limestone Parkway, the Shirt Factory carries spirit wear for all ages and sizes. Their number is 770-532-2453 ext 3.

  • Q: When does school begin and where do I go on the first day?

    The first day of school is Wednesday, August 21 and it is a full day

    The regular morning drop-off will be in place on August 21. Lower School students should be dropped-off via awaiting teachers along the driveway in front of the Lower School building and entrance.  Middle School Students without a Lower School sibling should be dropped off by the Middle Island. Upper School students are typically dropped off at the round-about in the Upper School student parking lot behind Wilheit Hall. 

    Middle School begins at 8:30 a.m., Middle School students should report to their A Period classroom on the first day of school

    Upper School students should also report to their A Period classroom on the first day of school by 8:30 a.m. 

    Convocation will be at 9:10 a.m. in the WAC followed by the Faculty Greeting.

    6th graders and new-to-Lakeview Middle School students will ring the bell after Convocation and the Faculty Greeting to mark their entry into Middle School.  

     Parents are welcome to attend Convocation and the bell ringing.
  • Q: What are the school hours for Upper School this year?

    Monday-Friday, school begins at 8:30 AM and dismisses at 3:25 PM. We will have a block schedule on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Periods EFGH will meet on Wednesdays and Periods ABCD will meet on Thursdays.
  • Q: Has my schedule changed from the one I received the last week of school?

    The schedules handed out in May were drafts.You will receive a new, updated schedule during the back-to-school open house. You can pick up this schedule outside the Upper School Office. Schedules will also be available in the Lion Portal beginning August 1, 2018.
  • Q: What about breakfast and lunch?

    An optional breakfast will be available to students in the morning prior to the start of most school days.  Students may also bring their own breakfast and eat it in the Student Center prior to school.   
    Lunch service will begin on the first day of school, (Wednesday, August 21). Student accounts are billed for the breakfast and lunches served by our food service provider, and students may also bring their own lunches. To find out more about the food service plan, click here.
    Breakfast and lunch are not served on half days.
  • Q: When will I be able to meet with my child's teacher one-on-one?

    You may meet your child's teacher on the back-to-school open house on August 19.

    One-on-one meetings are scheduled during Parent/Teacher Conferences on October 1 and 2 and again on March 4 and 5 after school. Sign-up information will be made available in October and March.

    Teacher conferences can also be scheduled throughout the year and you may always email the teacher at first name.last name@lakeviewacademy.org.
  • Q: How can I get other information about the school?

    The website is a wonderful resource to you, with calendars, information about special events, handbooks, and access to the Lion Portal. Parents also receive the bi-weekly, online newsletter, the Very Informed Parent.  You should, however, always feel comfortable calling the school to talk with the teacher or with someone in the office.
