Teacher, coach or staff member at Lakeview who has made the biggest impact on you:
“Coach” Harris has impacted me as both a performer and person discovering how I’ll fit into the world. The hours I’ve spent in his office- exchanging dad jokes or pathetically attempting a New York accent- have cemented Coach Harris as one of the more influential figures of my high school career. He taught me pride and acceptance of myself as a performer and the merits of musical theater outside of the stage. I owe much of who I am to him and the other Fine Arts teachers and cannot express my gratitude enough.

What will you miss most at Lakeview Academy?
What I will miss most is the sense of familiarity and comfort attending such a small school gave me. There is something reassuring about knowing where I’ll park every morning, recognizing the faces I pass, and knowing I can pop into any teacher’s office with any question. While I am excited to attend a larger university and meet new people, I will miss the comfort of seeing my friends every day and knowing everyone in my grade by name.

College you will attend in the fall: University of Georgia

College degree or area of study: Journalism

Other than college, do you have any other plans after high school?
I hope I get the opportunity to travel and the chance to live in a different country for a part of my life, to experience new cultures and styles of life of which I am currently unaware.

Adeline, So, clearly something broke 2020 and I'm sorry it impacted your last days of high school but it will surely be one for the history books. I'm happy for you and your future. I'm going to borrow words from John O'Donohue. It's the last stanza of a blessing called For A New Beginning: "Awaken your spirit to adventure; Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk; Soon you will be home in a new rhythm, For your soul senses the world that awaits you." Blessings! Jayne

Congrats siSTAR!! <3 I am so proud of you for your many accomplishments, and I cannot even begin to express my excitement at the adventure and life you have ahead of you. I know things are strange now and spending your senior week in the house with all your family is whack, but I am very grateful to have been gifted this extra time with you. I won't yet say that our little squirtle was evolved because you will always be squirt to us, but you have grown and matured so beautifully, in so many ways. You've faced your own personal trials and come out the other side stronger. You are an EXPERT. In this upside down time where it can be hard to celebrate, don't forget that you are worth celebrating and your future is bright. And wherever that future takes you, we will be cheering and supporting you every step of the way (except maybe if you are taking those steps in my clothes without asking). Love, love, love you.
  • Cindy Starke

I'm so excited you are going to UGA!!
