Lakeview Wins First Round of State Soccer Play-offs

Lakeview traveled to Savannah Country Day today and made school history with a 5-4 victory in overtime. Losing 1-0 in the first half, Millie Filson scored a beautiful header off a perfect corner kick from Hannah Perkins. Sara Nivens put Lakeview up 2-1 right before half on a breakaway goal off a Filson pass. However SVD scores three goals in the second half to go up 4-2. Hannah Perkins brought the Lady Lions back to life with a free kick goal with ten minutes remaining. Millie scored the tying goal off a rebound with only 4 minutes remaining. In the overtime period Maddy Towles placed a perfect thru ball as Sara Nivens punched home the game winner!! The defense held strong the last ten minutes of overtime to secure the win!!
