Lakeview students win and receive scholarships at music festival

At the North Gainesville Federated Festival, Sarah Miguel received 1st Place and a scholarship in Musical Theater. In the Vocal Art Song category, Noah Caplan won 1st Place and a scholarship in the Gainesville Music Club Festival, and Garv Gaur was awarded 2nd Place and a scholarship. All are students of high school music teacher,  Gretchen Plummer.
On February 28-29 and March 7, 42 Lakeview students of all ages who take piano, strings, and vocal lessons at the school participated in the North Gainesville Federated Festival, playing and singing for adjudication and bringing home many, many "Superior" ratings. Gold cups for multiple years of participation were presented to Case Beverly, Callan Blehm, Parish Byrd, Emma Gonzalez, Mokshitha Katkoori, Riley Lawson, Bora Ozcelik, Pavani Reddy (15 points), and Nicholas Mazzaferro (30 points). Lakeview music students who take lessons elsewhere also participated.
 
In the High School Scholarship Competitions, which are part of this event, Lakeview students took several prizes. In the Piano Solo category Luka Wolf, an 8th grader at Lakeview and student of Judy Thomas, won the 1st Place and a scholarship. Diego Bulos (Donna Kirkindoll) and Maggie Abboud (Beth Lawrence) received Honorable Mention.
