Lakeview Academy and Gainesville High School played an epic game tonight at Lakeview Academy as the Lions defeated the Red Elephants 6-5. Lakeview's Millie Filson started the scoring in the first half off a nice assist from Hannah Perkins. Gainesville's Amayia Lukie and Lauren Baudin scored to give Gainesville a 2-1 halftime lead.  Hannah Perkins scored the equalizer a few minutes into the 2nd half, but  shortly after Lukie drew a penalty kick and scored to put Gainesville back up 3-2.  Lakeview picked up the intensity as Millie scored back to back goals to make it 4-2.  Lakeview kept the pressure up as Annie Nivens scored off the rebound after a terrific save by Gainesville goalkeeper Michelle Bonilla on a Lauren Scott shot. Gainesville responded as Lauren Baudin scored off a rebound after Lakeview goalkeeper Celia Wilson-Patino made an excellent save on a Lukie shot. Lukie picked up another penalty kick with 7 minutes remaining to tie the game up 5-5. But Millie Filson would not be denied and scored her 4th goal to give Lakeview the win 6-5.
