Ari Mikels Wins Best Actor Georgia High School Musical Theatre Award

Congratulations to Ari Mikels who won Best Actor in the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Shuler Awards! He won over thespians from all divisions and titles throughout the state and is Lakeview Academy's first Best Actor winner. Ari will represent Georgia for Best Actor at the national level at the Jimmy Awards this summer. You can watch his performance at the 18:22 mark by clicking here. He is announced the winner at 21:19. Ari played Officer Lockstock in Lakeview's performance of Urinetown, which also received several Shuler Award nominations.

In addition, Ian Johnson and McClairin Garmon were chosen and featured in the Shuler Ensemble and resiliency videos. Congratulations to all!
Fashioned after Broadway’s Tony Awards, the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards – Shuler Hensley Awards® program celebrates excellence in high school musical theatre. The Awards are named in honor of actor/singer and Georgia native, Shuler Hensley, winner of the prestigious Tony Award, Outer Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk Award. The program embodies a spirit of camaraderie and celebration for the arts in high schools across Georgia.
