Sara Nivens wins 1st at Region 6-A private schools cross country championship; girls & boys teams headed to state

Lakeview's cross country teams going to state! At the Region 6-A private school cross country championships, Sara Nivens won the girl's race, Virginia Cobb placed 3rd, and Millie Filson 5th. As a team, Lakeview's girls placed 2nd, qualifying them to run at the state meet. In the boys race, Ryan Black placed 5th and Henry Stewart 6th. As a team, the boys placed 4th and will also compete at state. Parker White won the JV race. The state meet is November 5th in Carrollton, GA.
Lakeview Academy competed in the Region 6-A private school cross country championships today and brought home some hardware! Senior Sara Nivens won the girl's race with a new school record of 20:58. Virginia Cobb also placed third with Millie Filson right behind her in fifth. All three now qualify to compete individually in the state meet next weekend. As a team, the Lakeview girls earned the Region Runner-Up title which qualifies them all to run in the state meet as a team.

In the boys race, senior Ryan Black placed fifth and junior Henry Stewart earned sixth which qualifies them both to run individually in the state meet. As a team, the boys placed fourth, advancing them to the state meet. 

Eighth grader Parker White won the JV race to finish off the day.
