US Robotics Team Headed to State!
Congratulations to Lakeview's two Upper School robotics teams for their performance at the region tournament today! Both teams made it to the semifinal rounds (two of the eight teams that did). Lakeview's top team, 5898, advanced to the region finals and placed 2nd, narrowly missing 1st Place.
Lakeview's teams walked away with two major recognitions: Team 5898 won the Connect award for connecting with many in the STEM professional community and Team 18443 was the runner-up. In addition, Team 5898 was the runner-up for the Inspire Award which recognizes the best overall team. Team 5898 will be advancing to the State Championship which will be held at the Gainesville Civic Center on February 18th and 19th!
Team members include: Jarrett Atwill, Miles D'Amore, Garv Gaur, Bennett Hylton, Julia Laine, Adam Lauzon, Dylan Mulka, Lara Martins de Oliveira, Scott Rivenbark, and Henry Stewart (Team 5898); and Abby Baker, Olivia Chapman, Anderson Cheek, Eric Du, Kevin Gui, Sarah Kennedy, and Kevin Zhang (Team 18443).
