Lakeview Thespians Bring Down the House at ThesCon
At the 2022 Georgia Thespian Conference, Lakeview's cast and crew of Spamalot performed two shows for over 4,500 audience members! In addition, Ian Johnson, Sarah Kennedy and Jonathan Suo were a part of the All-State Theatre Cast and Crew that performed in the conferences' opening closing ceremonies. Noah Caplan represented Lakeview and served as one of only eight State Thespian Officers, (STO). Anderson Cheek will serve as a STO during the 2022-23 school year. McClairin Garmon, Caroline Gottsman, Anderson Cheek, Sarah Kennedy, Nobi Roberts, Kathryn McWhorter, Noah Caplan, Ari Mikels, and Davison Filson earned overall SUPERIORS and Ari and Davison's act was one of only 10 selected to perform in the closing Thespy Showcase. Davison was one of twelve senior thespians who earned a performance scholarship to be used at the school of his choice.
The 2022 Georgia Thespian Conference this past weekend was one for the books! This talented cast and crew ended their run of Spamalot with two performances for over 4,500 audience members. They received standing ovations for both performances. Many people were heard saying it was the best show they saw at the conference!
In addition, Ian Johnson, Sarah Kennedy and Jonathan Suo were a part of the All-State Theatre cast and crew that performed in the opening and closing acts at the conference. This was a huge honor and we are so proud of them.
Noah Caplan, one of this year’s State Thespian Officers, opened GA ThesCon along with the other 8 STOs. They planned the entire conference and were in charge of the students attending. He did an extraordinary job! Anderson Cheek, who is a newly elected STO for the 2022-23 school year, also helped run the conference. Both were amazing representatives of our school and Troupe 3630!
We had several students who earned overall SUPERIORS with Thespy performances and callbacks at conference. These students are McClairin Garmon, Caroline Gottsman, Anderson Cheek, Sarah Kennedy, Nobi Roberts, Kathryn McWhorter, Noah Caplan, Ari Mikels, and Davison Filson. Additionally, Ari and Davison's act was selected as one of only 10 acts to perform in the closing Thespy Showcase, which is a huge accomplishment and honor.
Lastly, both Davison Filson and Ari Mikels auditioned for colleges and universities from across the country and received an impressive number of callbacks and offers. Davison was one of twelve senior thespians who earned a performance scholarship to be used at the school of his choice. CONGRATULATIONS to both on their incredible accomplishments!
These students spent three days attending workshops, competing, performing and working with other students from around the state and with theatre professionals from around the nation. As some of the hardest working and dedicated kids in the school.
