Lakeview's Blue Team is Super-regional Champions!

Lakeview Academy's Middle School robotics Blue team (4323) won the championship at the super-regional competition! On Saturday, January 14, 2023, 24 robotics teams from across northeast Georgia met at Lanier High School to compete in the Super-regional FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Tournament. Although several of Lakeview's middle school teams have won individual competitions at the super-regionals in the past, this is the team's first grand championship win and automatically qualifies them to compete for the second year in a row at the state level at the University of Georgia on Saturday, February 11th. Congratulations to team members: Cade Alexander, Zachary Dupont, Zach Johnson, Dani Kirkley, Patrick Lovell, Bora Ozcelik, Sierra Piper, Ryan Pitts, Lorenzo Rojos-Alban, Hayden Silcox, Connor Smith, and Evan Wallace!

FLL robotics is a global program that challenges students to think like scientists and engineers. This year, the team learned real-life skills as they worked in teams on energy-themed contests, identifying problems, and presenting their solutions. The teams also built robots and programmed a set of missions in the robot game with LEGO autonomous robots.
