Summer Camps for ALL ages!

Lakeview Academy's summer programs can be a time to have fun, explore, learn something new, or try to get ahead in your coursework. Lakeview Academy offers a wide variety of courses, programs and camps that provide fun, hands-on experience including science challenges, outdoor exploration, athletics, fine arts, and creative play. Our camps will appeal to a broad mix of interests, abilities, and ages, (3 year olds through rising 10th grade) and are open to children throughout the community.

Stay all day - play all day!
A supervised lunch from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. will be provided for those extracurricular and athletic campers who register for a morning and afternoon session during the same week.  Be sure to pack a sack lunch for your camper. 

Forms of Payment:
We accept electronic, mailed and hand-delivered checks as well as American Express, Discover, or Mastercard debit or credit cards. Payments made by credit card will be charged an additional 2.75% administrative fee. Your registration is not complete - and your child's place will not be held - until full payment has been received.

Refunds:
The cost of the camp or class is refundable provided cancellation is received a minimum of 14 days in advance of camp - less a $25 registration fee for each summer camp, $100 registration fee for jump start classes, or $250 registration fee for academic classes, plus a 2.75% administrative fee for credit card payments, (if applicable). Should the camp or class be canceled, registrants will receive a FULL refund for that camp using the same form of payment as was used to register.

Lakeview Day Camp – Where the Magic of Summer Begins! (Session #1)
Rising Kindergarten – 5th
There is no better way to start the summer than spending it with your friends having fun creating, exploring and discovering. That is just what our day campers will be doing at Day Camp the weeks of June 5-9 and June 26-30. Campers will spend the day rotating through different stations as they make art out of clay and paint canvases with Tammy Chalmers; explore creative theater and music with fun-packed improv, storytelling, singing and African drumming with MaryAnn Sutherland; and outdoor time exploring while on nature walks, playing outdoor games and making crafts - and of course, playing on the playground with Mrs. Roberts. Indoor time will include school-approved computer games where students will increase their game skills. Campers will also learn culinary tips from Mrs. Taylor as they prepare simple dishes for tasting. She will also challenge campers with minute-to-win-it games and make crafts based on popular children’s books. Day Camp will certainly be a fun-filled weeks for our campers! Space is limited, so don’t delay - sign up today. Campers should bring a daily sack lunch.

Video Game Maker
Rising 3rd – 8th
This class offers the opportunity for beginning game-makers to learn how to create their very own video games. They will be able to play these games on their personal computers. We will also take experienced game-makers to the next level by supporting students as they learn to create projectiles, adding Boss levels, and moving platforms. This video game making camp will be fun, creative, and educational!

June 5-9: Morning

Baseball Camp – Boys
Rising 1st-8th (8-14 year olds)
Baseball camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of the game of baseball. The instruction includes individual skill development along with game situation awareness. Each camper will get individual instruction as well as group work to develop their game as a baseball player. Campers should wear sunscreen and bring gym shoes, glove, hat, and snack. Bats and helmets are not required.

Dr. Seuss Camp

This way! That way! Here! There! Join us for a week of Dr. Seuss adventure. We will spend our week playing games, singing silly songs, and making messy crafts. This camp is sure to be a week your child will enjoy!

Hiking Camp I - THIS CAMP IS FULL

Calling all adventurous explorers who are willing to go where the wild things are! During the week, campers will explore the hiking trails of North Georgia including: Moccasin Creek in Rabun County, Woody Gap on the Appalachian Trail near Dahlonega, Unicoi Lake Trail at Unicoi State Park, Cherokee Bluffs Bear Paw Trail near Flowery Branch and finishing the week at Raven Cliffs near Helen. We will end the week with a campfire and s’mores.

This basketball camp will focus on meeting the needs of each individual player. Players will be introduced to a series of skills that will enable them to play basketball and develop a broad base of fundamentals and compete regardless of size or speed. Campers should wear gym shoes.

Princess Camp
Rising Kindergarten – 2nd
Come and have fun the way a princess should. We will have a tea party, with pinkies up, and enjoy cake and tea we make ourselves. We will also make tiaras and other princess crafts and play games fitting for a princess.

Gear up for robotics camp! Campers will work in teams of two using LEGO Mindstorm EV3 to learn the fundamentals of building and programming a wide variety of robots. By learning important principles, campers acquire the ability to create robots from their imagination. With an endless number of robots to build, campers can come for one week or two.

Tinker Time Camp-THIS CAMP IS FULL

Come imagine, inspire and innovate! Tinker time camp will give students the opportunity to tinker with various tools and materials designed to integrate art, science and technology. Each day, campers will be engaged in hands-on projects, such as Tinker CAD and 3-D printing, that encourage imagination, critical thinking and collaboration. Some of the activities planned for the week include the design and construction of squishy and paper circuits using conductive an insulating dough, motorized coloring bots, and thermochromic slime and programming. Join us for a fun-filled week of innovation!

Chess Camp
Rising 1st – 8th
Learn chess and improve your game from a National Master, Damir Studen, ranked in the top 200 chess players in the United States and the 2009 and 2013 Georgia State Chess Champion. This will be a fun filled week of chess, Bughouse, (team chess), and Blitz, (chess played with a timer). Open to any skill level. Every student will receive a trophy and magnetic chess set!

Learning from the Lakeview cheerleaders: cheers, stunts, tumbling and dance! Learn how to make the football banner, make your own cheer bow, and of course, finish the week with a pep rally (Friday, June 24th at 11:45 – parents are invited). Campers should wear athletic clothes and gym shoes.

Wake Up & Play, Field Day (Towles)
Rising Kindergarten – 5th grade
If you love Field Day and an all-day PE class is your idea of a great time, then we have just the camp for you. Opening up the equipment room for adventure and play and using areas of school that we usually don’t associate with PE are a part of this camp. Each day will culminate with “field day” type games full of super soakers, water balloons, and fun getting wet!

Study Like a Rock Star!

During this week of camp, your child will learn fun and easy study skills. The targets skills include getting organized, time-management and prioritizing work, strategies for tests and quizzes, note-taking and self-control. Each student will discover their unique learning style and tips to make studying more efficient. At the end of the camp week, each child will leave with a notebook filled with strategies to use beyond elementary and middle school!
