• Early Bird (Morning Care)

  Early Bird morning care is offered from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.

  Early Bird is supervised morning care offered from 7:30 am to 8:00 am for Lower School students only. There is no supervision of Lower School students prior to 7:30 am. There is a charge of $5 per child per week for this program. All Early Bird students will be signed in by a teacher/assistant waiting outside the Lower School and escorted to the Extended Learning Room. At 8:00 am, all Early Bird students will be sent to their homeroom, where they will be under the supervision of their classroom teacher. This is a drop-in program; no registration required.

• Extended Learning (After School Care)

  Lakeview students in grades PreK 3 through 5th may enroll for a small fee in Extended Learning, our after-school program.

  The program operates Monday through Friday, from 2:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. An electronic registration and fee charged to your student account are required for this service. Hourly costs for this service are set on an annual basis.
  
  Lakeview’s Extended Learning Program is led by a coordinator and operated by qualified staff. The variety of daily activities planned for children participating in the program include games and outdoor play, arts and crafts, hands-on activities, rest and snack time, and a structured homework time for Lower School students.

  Field trips at Lakeview vary from year to year. Teachers and students in grades K – 5 take advantage of many local opportunities such as: 

  • Smithgall Woods Regional Education Center (3rd, 4th, 5th grades)
  • Amicalola Falls (1st grade)
  • Georgia State Capitol (4th grade)
  • Dahlonega Gold Museum (2nd grade)
  • Consolidated Gold Mine (2nd grade)
  • River Fork Park (3rd grade)
  • UNG Planetarium

• Performing Arts Opportunities

  Chorus - Offered to students in grades 4 and 5 by our Lower School Music Department. Rehearsal is once a week after school.
  
  Drama - Students in 3rd and 4th grades perform a play for their parents in the classroom. The 5th grade play is performed for the entire Lower School and parents in the Student Center.

• Private Music Lessons

  Private music lessons in piano, guitar, violin, trumpet and beginning brass can be scheduled at Lakeview on a first come first served basis. Scheduling is done through the cooperative efforts of the parent, teacher, and the music director.
