Lakeview Academy was a concept that started with a group of parents who were interested in a rigorous college preparatory educational institution that would allow children to flourish in small classroom settings. This idea is alive and well today and central to our mission. Over 40 years have passed and Lakeview Academy has grown from the basement of a downtown Gainesville office building to a robust campus sitting in the center of 90 acres.
The books, desks, chairs, physical buildings, athletic playing fields, playground equipment, bus acquisitions, land development and everything else that comes along with creating a school, was funded by parents, grandparents and a dynamic Board of Trustees. Moms came to school every day and made lunch, Dads helped with landscaping and painting. That spirit is alive and well at Lakeview Academy today.
Advancement, development and fundraising are vital to our daily operations and existence. Lakeview Academy launches an Annual Fund every year. This fund is tantamount to our yearly operational success. Capital campaigns have historically helped to build our facilities and will continue to be needed when new facilities become a necessity. Tuition and fees do not fully cover the cost of a Lakeview education, teachers’ salaries or benefits. The GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc. is a Georgia redirection of taxes program. It is designated money to assist students attending Lakeview from a public school-it allows educational choice. Parental financial support is vital to the health and well-being of Lakeview and its students.
Lakeview is trying to keep the fundraising easy for parents, grandparents, alumni and alumni parents.
Lakeview offers a variety of ways to support this value-based education, including gifts of cash, appreciated securities, and planned gifts.
