Lakeview Academy is an independent, co-educational, college preparatory day school in Gainesville with almost 600 students in grades K3 through 12 and is accredited by SAIS-SACS. Lakeview is committed to the personal growth and academic development of the college-bound student. Lakeview offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum with small classes that include Honors and Advanced Placement courses for academic enhancement. While Lakeview’s students are offered the opportunity to excel at a higher level, an academic support program is offered to students at all grade levels when extra help is needed.
Lakeview Academy’s academic rigor begins in the Lower School and aims to provide a student-centered and applied approach to enhance a deeper understanding in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Academic rigor continues in the Middle School with emphasis on developing good study habits, self-advocacy skills, independence, and technology competency. Lakeview Academy’s Upper School offers a variety of curricular options to meet the needs of all learners seeking a college bound experience.
Since 1999, the school has integrated technology in every discipline. Students in grades six through 12 have their own laptops and students in grades 3-5 have classroom notebooks on a fully wireless campus. Foreign language is taught at all levels including Early Learning. Extracurricular activities include clubs, cultural and academic field trips, performing arts, and a full athletic program. Enrollment is open to people of all races, religions, and national origins; financial aid is available to qualified students. Virtually all Lakeview graduates attend four-year colleges or universities. Bus transportation is available.
