What is Lakeview Edge:

Lakeview Edge is designed to link students’ education and the professional world, with the goal of empowering students with real-world experiences and perspectives to make more informed decisions about their future.

Through a dynamic series of experiences, students engage with local business leaders, explore career paths, and gain invaluable hands-on training. From guest speakers and job shadowing to intentional leadership opportunities and targeted soft skill development, this program aims to immerse students in what it truly means to work in their chosen field.

Lakeview Edge 2025-26
Fall 2025
Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores
Career Engagement Event - On October 23, Lakeview’s 10th through 12th-grade students will have the opportunity to meet and learn from local business leaders. The goal of this event is for students to better understand what opportunities exist within any given field and to hear directly from leaders as to what a day in the life looks like and what they are looking for most in new employees.
Freshmen
Team Building - At the same time as the Career Engagement Event, Lakeview’s freshmen will go to the Olympic Rowing Venue to practice teamwork and effective communication while learning to row and work together.
Spring 2026 Seniors, Juniors
Shadowing Experience – During the spring, Lakeview’s juniors and seniors will get the chance to shadow a professional in a career field of their choice. Students are welcome to shadow one of our participating business partners or find an opportunity of their own.
Sophomores, Freshman
Soft Skill Development – Ninth and 10th-grade students will go through a development day led by a corporate training group. This hands-on program is designed to develop effective communication and help students develop resiliency.
