My job as the school nurse is to promote the health, safety and well-being of students in the Lower, Middle and Upper schools. I have approximately 20 years of nursing experience ranging from ICU to Emergency Room to physician offices. Being a Lakeview mom, as well, I understand the importance of knowing your child will be taken care of should he or she become ill or injured at school.
Should your child need medication at school, all medications must be brought in by a parent in their original container. Medications should be accompanied by an Authorization to Administer Medication form available on the website or in my office.
Students with severe allergies, asthma, seizures, diabetes or other medical diagnoses should fill out a Medical Action Plan. These forms are also available from the website or in my office. I am always available for conferences to discuss your child’s health in relation to the school setting.
Information regarding required immunizations, common childhood illness and when to return to school following an illness can also be found on the website. Please contact me with questions regarding any of these issues; I am only a phone call or email away!
