Homework Lab is available Monday through Friday in the Middle School from 3:45 to 5:30 pm. Please click "Read More" for rates and other details.
What is Homework Lab?
Homework Lab is designed for students who are not picked up immediately after school and need supervision until parents can pick them up.

What are the hours of Homework Lab?
3:45 PM- 5:30 PM

What are the 2024-2025 Homework Lab Fees:
All charges will be billed on your student's SMART Tuition monthly statement.
  • Advance Fee = $20/week if signed up for the week or month (if the registration* is submitted by the Monday of the week attending)
  • Drop-in Fee = $8 per day (applies if your child is registered* after Monday of the week attending or drops-in)
  • Late Pick-up Fee (after 5:30 p.m.) = $10 per 10 minutes late (or any portion thereof).
*NOTE: Once registered for a day/week, fees are charged even if your child does not attend.

Do you have to sign up for Homework Lab?
No, you do not have to sign up your student ahead of time for Homework Lab. However, rates are lower for those who register in advance. You may register by the day, week, or month. Any student needing after-school care should report to Homework Lab.

Students who participate in after-school activities can attend Homework Lab after their activity IF they need a place to go while waiting for their parents to pick them up.

What is the sign-in/sign-out procedure for Homework lab? Any student attending Homework Lab will be asked to “sign in” upon arrival. Students must sign themselves out as they leave Homework Lab for the day.

What does my child do from 3:25 PM until the start of Homework Lab at 3:45 PM?
Students can gather needed books or homework from their cubbies to take to Homework Lab. They can go to the WAC and purchase an afterschool snack before reporting to Homework Lab.

Where should my child meet for Homework Lab?
Any student who wants to participate in Homework Lab should meet at the blue bench outside the middle school building. A faculty member will then escort them to the Homework Lab room located in the middle school building.

Who is in charge of Homework Lab, and where is It located? Each afternoon, a different middle school teacher monitors Homework Lab. This means that the location of Homework Lab each day depends on which teacher is the monitor for that day. Students will meet in that teacher’s classroom.

What do students do in Homework Lab? Students should work on assignments quietly. If students do not have any homework or complete their work early, they should find something to work on quietly. Homework lab teachers often take the students outside if the weather is nice as a “brain” break. It is not unusual for Homework Lab teachers to bring the students to the WAC to watch the middle school volleyball/basketball teams compete. This depends on whether the students have finished their work. It is the student’s responsibility to complete assignments.

How do I pick my child up from Homework lab?
If your child has a cell phone, you may text or call your child and he/she will be released from the MS building. You may email your child when he/she should be released from Homework lab, and the teacher will ask them to sign out.

If your child does not have a cell phone, he/she can use the phone in the MS Office to call you and find out when they should leave Homework lab.

Please note that the middle school building is locked by 4 pm for security reasons.
