Learning Support is a structured, directed study class utilizing regular curriculum to promote study strategies, organizational techniques and meaningful test preparation. Learning Support may also provide a program for remediation of skills and subject support.
Students qualifying for this program may need support for organizational planning, study skills, or are identified with a current psychological as having diagnosed learning disabilities or language disorders. There is a session fee for Learning Support and it is billed through the Business Office.
In the Middle and Upper Schools, a certified learning specialist works with students in a structured, directed-study class utilizing the regular curriculum to promote study strategies, organizational techniques, and meaningful test preparation. A referral process is in place for this service. No credit or grade is received for Learning Support, though conduct and effort are reported on the Interim Grade Reports.
Since Lakeview Academy is committed to the success of each student, we believe that additional support is necessary if a student appears on the Danger List on the Interim Grade reports (i.e., a grade below 75).
