How has Lakeview prepared you for your future?
Lakeview certainly offered me the opportunity to grow as a student, but that’s not what I’m most grateful for out of my high school experience. In short, I feel as if Lakeview provided the perfect environment for me to grow as a person, and in the end, that’s probably the best preparation a school can offer.

Teacher, coach or staff member at Lakeview who has made the biggest impact on you:
My STAR teacher Mr. Lovell has probably had the largest impact on me as a student and human being. Mr. Lovell offered unwavering support over the years, pushing me to new academic heights, but looking back, I think what makes him so special is his attitude. I will never forget the charisma with which he confronts challenges or the way he fills a room with positivity. Even during the worst days, Mr. Lovell managed to make all of us laugh. That is a skill I hope to have one day.

Did you participate in anything outside of Lakeview?
The Summer Science Program in Astrophysics was by far the highest academic mountain I’ve ever climbed, but I think I made it to the summit. I didn’t understand the ultimate goals of SSP when I first arrived at New Mexico Tech, but I soon learned that while I might be able to code with speed and accuracy, I couldn’t beat many colleagues on a physics test. I’m so incredibly thankful for that. By design, I had something to share with my peers, and when the people around me started sharing their expertise, I listened. SSP showed me that real science is not a test or a single correct path; it's a winding trail of collaboration, innovation, and sometimes luck.

College you will attend in the fall: Georgia Tech

College degree or area of study: Theoretical Computer Science / Mathematics

Other than college, do you have any other plans after high school?
Sure. I want to work on the cutting edge of AI/algorithms and live a happy life. Traveling and learning how to ice skate are also certainly near the top of my bucket list.
