Teacher, coach or staff member at Lakeview who has made the biggest impact on you:
I can’t pick a single teacher that has made the biggest impact on me because I have had the best teachers ever here!
Mrs. Barwick calmly dealt with the being of chaos that I was and kept me excited to learn,.
Mrs. Baer always pushed and encouraged me where I needed it.
Mrs. Lipold made me look at the world in a different way.
Mrs. Casper taught me how not to cry and/or die when speaking publicly.
Señora Ebel gave me endless fashion advice.
Mr. McCann (even though accidentally I hit him with plenty of doors before I knew who he was) encouraged my love of books.
Mr. Lawley taught history in an exciting and intriguing way.
Mrs. McFall was my extra mom on bad days.
Mrs. Zwald never let me give up and worked endlessly to teach my stubborn self math.
And Mr. Lovell always kept his classroom door open to answer the unending flow of questions I had.

Without the assortment of these people’s skills and the love they put into each individual student, I think I’d be a very different person- one that couldn’t dress, couldn’t read, and still didn’t understand for loops.

What will you miss most at Lakeview Academy?
I’m going to miss the teachers and staff. They are a fantastic group and they truly care about you and love you outside of the school setting. They’re really special and they know what you need whether that be sitting on their desk and sharing grapes during long discussions about dogs, doling out the toughest of love to instill more confidence in you in places you thought you’d never succeed, laughing at literature memes together to spend an empty block day’s study hall, always having their office door open (even if it’s just to talk about the virtues of white chocolate pretzels), or telling endless stories of college and band camp and sharing the most unique playlist known to man. I’m sure there’s gonna be cool adults in college, but the ones at Lakeview are a type I’ll never find again.

Did you participate in anything outside of Lakeview?
I’ve been a Girl Scout since I was in kindergarten because my mom decided that, the wild ball of manic energy that was six-year-old Sara, needed more structure. I’ve stayed in it since then and earned my Gold Award (it’s like an Eagle Scout, but way harder to earn). It’s taught me the value of hard work, the importance of community service, and how to be a better leader.

College you will attend in the fall: Purdue University

College degree or area of study: Cybersecurity and a foreign language minor in Russian

Other than college, do you have any other plans after high school?
If I told you I’d have to kill you. I also plan to join a lot of clubs in college because that sounds like fun.

I’m a very lucky Mimi to have you in my life. I know it sounds trite but I’ll say it anyway. “Your future is so bright you’re going to need sunglasses”. Fortunately I bought you the pair of ‘HELLO BOYS’ sunglasses. Love you!
