Describe a meaningful experience you had while at Lakeview
One of the best memories I have was participating in the One Act Play my sophomore year. I never thought I would get up on a stage and perform. We won the region title that year for “nine to Five” and went on to win the state competition. We were all so proud and I will never forget that feeling. The friends I made have meant the world to me.How has Lakeview prepared you for your future?
Lakeview has taught me that I could accomplish more than I ever thought possible and that stepping out of my comfort zone and pushing myself to do things that were hard or uncomfortable sometimes is the best way to grow and become independent. This will help me the rest of my life and I am grateful for the teachers and friends along the way that were there to push and encourage me.What is your biggest academic accomplishment and why?
For me, graduating from Lakeview and being accepted by the two colleges I wanted to attend is my biggest academic accomplishment. Having a learning disability from a head injury as a small child made school very hard at times. I am so grateful to so many teachers, the whole learning support team and administrators who made sure I got the help I needed to be successful. I will be forever thankful to all of you.Teacher, coach or staff member at Lakeview who has made the biggest impact on you
Mrs. Conrath has been such a great influence on me to be, she always pushed me to be better and do my best. Theatre was such a positive experience for me.
Also, Miss Hughes and Miss Collins have helped me so much with my academics. I could not have gotten through without their help. Miss Hughes was my biggest cheerleader-advocate and always went the extra mile to make sure I got the support I needed. I am so grateful for all three of these people. What will you miss most at Lakeview Academy?
Lakeview is like a big family and it has been so wonderful attending a school where people really knew me and took an interest in my life. There was always someone who cared and made sure you were ok and had what you needed personally, academically or anything else that might come up. I will miss this and always cherish my years here.Did you participate in anything outside of Lakeview?
I love to volunteer with small children and spent most summers teaching vacation bible school, working in the church nursery and helping at Challenge Child and Friends, now known as SISU. I also continued at SISU during the school year whenever I could. My passion is helping children especially those that struggle. I really feel that SISU gave me an opportunity to realize my passion and make a difference in a child’s life.College you will attend in the fall:
I will attend Young Harris CollegeCollege degree or area of study
: Early Childhood EducationOther than college, do you have any other plans after high school?
I plan to travel this summer with my family and spend time with my friends since we had to miss the last part of our senior year.
