Lakeview Academy SWEEPS the awards! Congratulations to the winners of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club Charles J Thurmond Writing Scholarship competition:
1st place-$2500-Manideep Reddy (Lakeview Academy)
2nd place- $1500-William Beard (Lakeview Academy)
3rd place-$1000- Brock Harris (Lakeview Academy)
Gainesville Kiwanis Club awards $5000 in scholarships to local students in the writing arts each year. "Charles J Thurmond was a much loved and well-remembered member of our Kiwanis Club and he focused a lot of his time to building up the youth in our community. We honor his memory each year through these scholarships."
