Lakeview Student Named National Merit Finalist

Congratulations to William Beard who was selected as a National Merit Finalist. Each year 1.6 million students compete for awards based on the highest Selection Index Scores on the junior year PSAT. From that pool, 34,000 are recognized as Commended Students. From the Commended Students list, 16,000 go on to be designated Semifinalist; and from that pool, only 8,300 are recognized as National Merit Scholars and represent the top 1.25% of test takers. This year there was only one in Hall County/City of Gainesville.
