Fall Update - October 2022

October 28, 2022

Dear Lakeview Family,

There are so many exciting activities going on at Lakeview this fall, I want to give you an update.

The annual Fall Festival was yesterday, and I hope everyone went home with a cake from the cakewalk and had a fun-filled day. Many thanks to Hope Harrison, LPA president, and all the volunteers who made this year’s festival a huge success.

I hope everyone will come out to the last regular season, home football game tonight to see our Lions take on George Walton Academy. The senior players will be recognized, and at halftime, our drama students will perform a snippet from their upcoming production of Matilda.

The girls’ and boys’ cross-country teams compete in Macon this Saturday for the GIAA state championship. Congratulations to our runners on their achievements, and we wish them the best on Saturday!

Lakeview will host the GISA Region One Act Play competition next Wednesday at the Brenau Downton Center theatre. Our own drama students will compete for the region championship. Break a leg, y'all!

Earlier this week, Allen Tucker, Beth McElwee, and I made a road trip to Huntsville, AL, to visit a private independent school that is a little older and bigger than Lakeview. We picked up some good ideas and best practices but driving home, I realized where we are so blessed -- it’s our students, parents, faculty, and staff. I’m so grateful for everyone who makes this school the school it is.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this beautiful fall weather. IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE A LION!
