What better day than Valentine’s to share good news from Lakeview Academy?
Re-enrollment for the ’23-’24 school year is on track with last year, and 92% of current faculty and staff members indicate they will return.
The admissions office is staying busy with applications for new families as well as hosting weekly visitors to campus and monthly open houses.
Another busy office is college counseling. Lakeview is proud to have a 100% dedicated college counselor. Kelsey Marcero does an outstanding job working with our students, beginning in 9th grade, to guide them through the college admissions process. The class of 2023 is off to a great start with impressive in-state acceptances from Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia and prestigious out-of-state acceptances from New York University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Wisconsin, and Baylor University to name a few. The full list of college acceptances will be released later this spring.
The recent meeting for rising 9th graders and their parents was held at the Brenau Downtown Center. Lakeview is grateful to partner with Brenau to use the theater for important school-wide events while their track team makes use of our athletic complex. Lakeview was recently gifted funds to replace the aging sound system, and it will be in place by early summer. Watch for details about Legally Blonde, Lakeview’s spring musical coming up in March.
Lakeview hosts the Regional GIAA Basketball Tournament Wednesday and Friday nights of this week. The girls’ and boys’ teams compete on both days. Come out and show your Lion Pride!
Finally, Lakeview will celebrate 50 years of the famous annual auction on Saturday, March 11. It’s an evening with a silent and live auction with more than 300 packages for auction, food, drinks, friends, philanthropy, and this year – dancing! We can’t wait and hope you make plans to attend this special night. Become a sponsor or purchase tickets today!
Thank you, parents, grandparents, alumni parents, and alumni, for being part of the Lakeview Academy family. You and our students are the reason I get up every morning to be your head of school. I’m grateful for you.
