Lakeview Academy’s AP Program in Top Six Percent Nationally
College Board announced that Lakeview Academy earned the organization’s highest level of achievement, platinum, for outstanding results in the school’s advanced placement (AP) program placing the school in the top six percent nationally and the top eight percent of eligible schools in Georgia.
The AP® School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

Lakeview annually offers 16 AP courses, including two for freshmen.
“Lakeview’s mission is to prepare students for college and our faculty is the best at doing that,” said Beth McElwee, assistant head of school for academics. “Our teachers train students in time management, organizational skills, study skills, and, perhaps most important, they teach students how to advocate for themselves. All these skills are necessary for college preparedness.”
In addition to this recognition of Lakeview’s AP program, SAT results for 2023 reveal a total score (mean) of 1202, a reading and writing mean of 596, and a math mean of 606. These scores are based on 38 test takers from the class of 2023.
“Lakeview requires standardized testing of 100% of its students. These scores from 2023 are another reflection of the strength of our faculty and academic program,” said McElwee.
